The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Rolando Castro, began the Gira por el Empleo in the city of San Miguel, with the objective of managing new job opportunities for hundreds of salvadorans. This program, which seeks to bring decent employment to various sectors of the country, had a great reception in its first call in the eastern zone.
During the event, Castro emphasized the importance of creating job opportunities as a national priority. “Before guaranteeing the right of workers, we must ensure the right to life; with the support of all our workers, we initiated this program to offer more opportunities nationwide”, said the minister. This effort responds to the need to generate employment in a country where lack of work continues to be a challenge for many.
The program has focused its attention on groups that face greater difficulties in entering the labor market, such as young people, single mothers and people over 40 years of age. “The programs they are promoting to generate employment, especially for young people, mothers and people over 40, are benefiting hundreds of salvadorans”, said Arnoldo Díaz, representative of Grupo Campestre, one of the collaborating companies.
In addition, the minister underscored the crucial role of entrepreneurs in this process. “It is essential to recognize the entrepreneurs who, by offering job opportunities, transform the lives of many people and those who depend economically on them”, said Castro. These opportunities not only allow the beneficiaries to improve their economic situation, but also open the door to additional benefits such as social security, access to credit and the possibility of acquiring a home.
The event was a success, and hundreds of people signed their permanent employment contracts in this first stage of the tour. “This morning, hundreds of people in the eastern zone have signed their permanent work contracts, we are bringing opportunities that truly transform lives, thanks to our successful Gira por el Empleo”, concluded the minister.
With this initiative, the Ministry of Labor reaffirms its commitment to the salvadoran population, promoting access to decent jobs and strengthening the country’s economy through collaboration between the public and private sectors. The Gira por el Empleo will continue in other cities of the country in the coming months, seeking to replicate the success achieved in San Miguel.
