In honor of the festivities in honor of the Divine Savior of the World, the Mayor’s Office of San Salvador has announced special operating hours for municipal markets between august 1 and 6. Some supply centers will maintain their regular hours, while others will close their doors on specific dates, so citizens are advised to take note to avoid any shopping disruptions.

The markets that will operate with regular hours throughout the week are: Mercado Mejicanos 1, Mercado Mejicanos 2, Yucodormo de Mejicanos, Mercado Mayorista La Tiendona, Mercado Mayorista de Plátanos, Mercado Anexo La Tiendona and Mercado de Ayutuxtepeque. These centers will be open so that the population can stock up without interruption.
In contrast, the Mercado Central will remain closed on august 6, affecting buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10. Additionally, Plaza Las Banderas and building 7 will be closed on august 5 and 6, as will the Mercado Sagrado Corazón, which could impact hundreds of merchants and shoppers in the historic center.

Regarding peripheral markets, it has been established that the Periférico 1 market will be closed on august 3, while the Ex-Cuartel, San Jacinto, and Tinetti markets will be closed on august 6. The La Tiendona Retail Market has also been closed on august 5 and 6, as well as the Modelo, Monserrat, San Antonio, and Belloso markets, and the Libertad Shopping Center.
Meanwhile, peripheral markets 2 will also adjust their operations. On august 6, Melida Anaya Montes, Las Colinas, and the Ciudad Delgado market will be closed. Additionally, Cuscatancingo and Zacamil will not be open on august 5 and 6, so residents of these areas should plan their shopping in advance.
The Mayor’s Office of San Salvador urges the public to schedule their visits to the markets according to the established calendar to avoid inconveniences and support local merchants during this important season. Likewise, we remind you to maintain cleanliness and order measures in all areas.
