El Salvador and Turkey have strengthened their bilateral relationship in recent years, promoting key areas such as trade, investment, and agriculture. As part of this effort, both countries held the Second Meeting of Bilateral Political Consultations at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, where they discussed new opportunities for economic cooperation.

The meeting was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Mira, and the Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yaprak Balkan. During the meeting, they highlighted the progress made in previous agreements and explored new possibilities for collaboration in strategic sectors.
In the commercial sphere, both delegations analyzed opportunities in sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energies, and tourism.

Also mentioned was the interest of Turkish companies in expanding their presence in El Salvador through investments in infrastructure and technology. Turkish investment in infrastructure was highlighted, with emphasis on the modernization of the port of Acajutla and the reactivation of the port of La Union.
The delegation of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) recently visited the country to evaluate new investment opportunities. According to Yaprak Balkan, these approaches generate confidence among investors and may attract more Turkish capital to the region.

With this meeting, El Salvador and Turkey consolidate their commercial and economic relationship, betting on the development of strategic projects that benefit both countries. The authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening this cooperation for the benefit of economic growth and employment generation.
