The Court’s decision is divided into two parts: the first establishes that, due to a technicality, it does not rule on Mr. Mossi’s innocence; and the second confirms the Bank’s right to continue the proceedings against him in the United States.
The Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE) informs its stakeholders that it will extend its legal action against Dante Mossi. This stems from the decision of the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, which determined that there is personal jurisdiction over Dante Mossi and that CABEI has the right to file a lawsuit in US state court.

The case continues
It is essential to clarify that this decision is strictly based on a procedural technicality and does not constitute, nor can it be understood or interpreted as, a ruling on the defendant’s innocence or on the merits of the facts reported by CABEI.
CABEI reaffirms that the legal action taken responds to acts considered serious and harmful that compromise institutional values, including interference in strategic relationships, misuse of resources, and loss of assets. As a multilateral institution, the Bank maintains its unwavering commitment to safeguarding institutional integrity and protecting the interests of its member countries.
CABEI will take steps to ensure this case is heard by the appropriate authorities. The defense of ethics, transparency, and accountability remains a central pillar of our work.
