El Salvador ranks third in services exports in Central America, with a total of US$1,506.8 million through july, according to the International Trade in Services report provided by the Secretaría de Integración Económica Centroamericana (SIECA). This performance highlights the country in the regional scope, reflecting a remarkable growth in the services sector.
Nicaragua leads the region with exports totaling US$4,457 million, while Costa Rica ranks second with US$4,341.4 million, Guatemala is in fourth place with exports of US$1,129.9 million, while Honduras closes the ranking with US$519.6 million.
These numbers show a clear difference in the volume of exports among Central American countries, with El Salvador standing out above its closest neighbors.
It is expected that, by the end of 2024, the numbers of services exports in El Salvador will increase, considering that in 2023 the country reached a total of US$5,108.6 million. This trend suggests a possible continued growth in the services sector, consolidating El Salvador as an important player in regional trade.
