The Instituto Salvadoreño del Café (ISC) is actively promoting the coffee economy in El Salvador, focusing on the empowerment of youth and women in the sector. One of the outstanding initiatives is the Coffee Camp, organized by the Climate Resilience Program. At this event, Mauricio Sansivirini, president of ISC, gave a presentation entitled “ISC’s perspective on youth and women in coffee farming”.
During his speech, Sansivirini underscored the importance of three key pillars for the country: youth, women and coffee. He stressed that “coffee is life, is environment, is economy”, emphasizing that the growth of the coffee sector depends on the joint effort of all those involved.
President Nayib Bukele’s vision, oriented towards the economic improvement of the country, is reflected in the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the ISC. Both are committed to promoting activities that promote research, development and innovation in coffee growing.
These actions seek not only to strengthen the coffee sector, but also to ensure its long-term sustainability, benefiting local communities and contributing to the country’s economic development.
