More than 200 women beneficiaries of the Labor Mobility Program participated in a meeting organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, focused on strengthening their economic development after temporary work experiences abroad.
The event, called “Encuentro de Trabajadoras Temporales Retornadas”, was presided over by the Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Patricia Nathaly Godínez, who highlighted the economic impact this program has had on the participants and their families.

According to the official, the initiative not only facilitates job opportunities outside the country, but also promotes income generation that is subsequently used for investment in housing, education, health, and entrepreneurship in El Salvador.

“The program allows the beneficiaries to improve their living conditions and boost the economy in their communities”, Godínez said, emphasizing that many of the participants have managed to start their own businesses or strengthen their family finances after their return.

During the event, a services fair was also held, offering financial tools and advice to maximize the use of income earned abroad, thus promoting better financial management and long-term sustainability.
Testimonials from participants reflect this impact. Some beneficiaries highlighted that the work experience allowed them to achieve economic stability, access health services, and generate additional income through entrepreneurship.

The program, promoted by the salvadoran government in coordination with the United States, seeks to foster regular, safe, and orderly migration, while contributing to economic growth by strengthening the labor and financial skills of salvadorans.

Representatives such as Ana Medeiros, head of mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in El Salvador; Sofía Rodríguez, Vice Minister of Labor and Social Welfare; and Daysi Minero, representative of the Superintendency of the Financial System, also participated in the event. They emphasized the importance of supporting these processes to enhance their economic impact in the country.
