The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, together with the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Invest in El Salvador), participated in the 45th Annual State Convention of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce 2024, held in Bakersfield. During this event, salvadoran institutions advised investors with projects for more than US$230,000, seeking to strengthen commercial ties between both territories.
This important forum, which brings together member companies, Hispanic chambers and institutions, offers a networking space and the opportunity to present various investment initiatives. Attendees participated in workshops and presentations that addressed business opportunities and the functioning of the chambers of commerce in California.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrea Cañas, head of the Investment Department, highlighted the relevance of Salvadoran businessmen within the Hispanic chambers. “Our attendance to this event was an invitation from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce”, she said, underlining the importance of salvadorans holding high-level positions in these entities.
Cañas also emphasized that during the convention key information was shared about investment opportunities in El Salvador and the country’s exportable offer was promoted. This made it possible to establish contact with important investors interested in doing business with the Central American nation.
In addition to the projects already advised, other potential investors showed interest in salvadoran products, especially in the purchase of coffee for distribution in California.
El Salvador’s participation in this type of event reflects the government’s efforts to strengthen its presence in international markets and attract new investments that will benefit the country’s economic development.
