The Government has reported a 30% increase in the sales of businesses located in the Surf City 2 area, reflecting the positive economic impact generated by the infrastructure works and the improvement in security. This increase is a direct result of the strategies implemented by the Executive to boost tourism and strengthen economic development in the eastern part of the country.

The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, highlighted that local businessmen are already seeing concrete benefits after the inauguration of Surf City 2. “After President Bukele inaugurated Surf City 2, businessmen in the area reported a 30% increase in their sales”, she said. The work is part of the Government’s commitment to turn coastal areas into world-class tourist centers.
Surf City 2 includes a modern 13-kilometer road that connects the Punta Mango area, equipped with bicycle lanes, lighting, viewpoints and access to beaches with great tourist potential. This new road not only facilitates connectivity, but also opens economic opportunities in a region historically neglected by public investment.

The security environment has been key to this economic upturn. Thanks to the Territorial Control Plan and the exception regime, El Salvador has been ranked as the safest country in the western hemisphere, which has generated confidence in tourists and investors. Proof of this is the change in the travel classification from level 4 to level 1 granted by the U.S. State Department, which now recommends only basic precautions to visit the country.
The Government remains committed to sustainable economic development through strategic investments in infrastructure and security, allowing not only the growth of tourism, but also the generation of jobs and foreign exchange for the salvadoran economy.
