The Cámara de Comercio e Industria de El Salvador (Camarasal) awarded the Philanthropy Award 2025 to salvadoran businessman Roberto José Kriete Ávila, in recognition of his outstanding career in social support and his firm commitment to the welfare of Salvadorans. This tribute took place within the framework of the Month of the Entrepreneur, a commemoration that celebrates every june 18 the Day of the Salvadoran Entrepreneur.

During the presentation of the award, Leticia Escobar, president of Camarasal, said that true business success is also measured by the positive impact on people’s lives. “Don Roberto Kriete reminds us that generosity can be a powerful legacy”, she said, underscoring the transformative role of purposeful leadership.
Kriete has been a national reference in philanthropy. Through the Fundación Gloria de Kriete, he has promoted projects in health, education, technology and social innovation. Likewise, through the Fundación Ágape, she has promoted comprehensive programs for vulnerable populations in key areas such as health, food and education.
With a long-term vision, it has also invested in the country’s education by founding the Kriete Institute of Engineering and Science, an institution that is committed to a modern pedagogical model focused on human development. This initiative has strategic alliances with prestigious universities such as Tecnológico de Monterrey and Olin College of Engineering.
The tribute to Roberto Kriete reinforces Camarasal’s commitment to promote business leadership with social impact, recognizing those who, beyond generating employment, work to build a fairer and more caring El Salvador.
