The new phase of the Los Cocodrilos housing project is progressing with the Ministry of Housing delivering homes to families from communities such as El Cacao 1 and 2, Atonal, 10 de Octubre, and La Finquita. This initiative, in addition to providing housing security, generates positive economic impacts in the area.

The project’s development represents an investment in social infrastructure that revitalizes the local economy through the construction of new housing units, the hiring of labor, and the demand for associated materials and services. Currently, two additional units are under construction, extending the project’s multiplier effect on employment and economic activity.

From an economic perspective, access to decent housing reduces social vulnerability, improves living conditions, and strengthens the assets of beneficiary families, allowing them to allocate more resources to consumption, education, and entrepreneurship. Likewise, resettlement from high-risk areas helps reduce future costs associated with emergencies, social services, and urban decay.

The beneficiary families emphasized that owning a home not only represents stability but also an opportunity to begin a new economic and social cycle. Overall, the Los Cocodrilos housing project is consolidating its position as a commitment to economic development with a social focus, combining public investment, job creation, and the strengthening of community well-being.
