Within the framework of the Production Increase Program, the Government of El Salvador, through Vice Ministro de Agricultura y Ganadería , Óscar Domínguez, reports that food security and agricultural development continue to be strengthened nationwide. One of the most representative production areas is in La Majada, Sonsonate, where a significant increase in vegetable production has been achieved under controlled conditions.

In this area, classified as one of the smallest within the program, a production cycle of 350,000 pounds of tomatoes, 650,000 units of cucumbers, 1,000 cabbages, and the recent addition of eggplant, whose cultivation is in its initial phase, is reported. Each mesh house installed in the area exceeds 1,800 square meters, allowing for efficient use of space and greater productivity per cultivated area.

The La Majada experience is just one example of the positive impact being generated by this program, which has more than 140 production areas distributed throughout the country. These initiatives not only promote the production of fresh, quality food, but also generate local employment and strengthen food self-sufficiency in El Salvador.

In the coming days, authorities will unveil one of the largest production areas of the program, which continues to consolidate itself as a fundamental pillar in the national strategy to guarantee sustainable access to food and promote innovation in the agricultural sector.
