In commemoration of International Education Day, a discussion and meeting were held with more than 80 young people, teachers, and educational stakeholders from different parts of the country. This event provided a space for dialogue and reflection on the role of youth in education and their participation in building more inclusive and safe school environments.
The day allowed young people to share their voices, exchange experiences, and discuss how to strengthen coexistence, student participation, and the right to a quality education, recognizing youth not only as beneficiaries but also as active participants in educational processes.
The meeting also strengthened ties between students, teachers, and institutions, promoting shared responsibility and collaborative work as the foundation for improving the educational experience. Through open dialogue, the importance of creating safe spaces where young people can express themselves, participate and actively contribute to school life was highlighted, with the support and guidance of the European Union, which promotes these spaces as part of its commitment to inclusive education and more opportunities for all.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the Agustine project – Support for Violence Prevention in El Salvador, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with Expertise France, UNESCO, UNICEF, and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, as part of efforts to promote youth participation and safer, more inclusive educational environments.
The commemoration of International Education Day thus becomes an opportunity to strengthen dialogue, highlight youth leadership, and reaffirm the European Union’s commitment to education built in a participatory manner, centered on people, and geared towards a future with more opportunities for new generations.
