The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador signed a letter of understanding with the BE1 Israel-El Salvador consortium at the heart of global trade, with the goal of opening new trade routes for products produced by Salvadoran micro and small enterprises. The agreement seeks to diversify export destinations and categories, connecting the national offering with high-potential international showcases.

In its first phase, the agreement will prioritize the export of men’s and women’s handbags, jewelry, and unique handcrafted pieces of high cultural value. To this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make available its network of embassies, consulates, and trade offices, offering market intelligence, buyer identification, business contacts, and diplomatic and logistical support for trade missions.

BE1 Israel, based in Israel, brings together companies specializing in investor advisory, financing, innovation, and imports, providing a platform for Salvadoran products to access international markets. Through this alliance, MSMEs will be able to participate in strategic showcases, expanding their reach and global positioning.
The agreement will also enhance the use of CONAMYPE’s Trading Houses and its digital marketplace, which currently showcases the offerings of 38 houses in countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Hong Kong, and Canada. Among the most exported products under this modality are handicrafts (34%), coffee (28%), clothing (22%), handbags (9%), footwear (5%), and chocolate (2%).

CONAMYPE called on MSMEs interested in exporting to join the internationalization circuit by preparing their catalogs and connecting with marketing companies. The goal is to bring products made in El Salvador to the world, strengthening the presence of national products in high-value global markets.
