Banco Davivienda is committed to a more equitable and prosperous future; as a sign of this, this year it renews and strengthens its “Mi Empresa Mujer” program, designed to drive salvadoran women entrepreneurs towards success, leadership and economic independence.

With a comprehensive approach, this program represents much more than financing: it is an open door to training, access to specialized tools, and a community of support that empowers women entrepreneurs to continue being engines of change in society. In addition, it integrates in its commercial offer, the portfolio of protection coverage, thanks to the synergy with its subsidiary Davivienda Seguros.
“At Davivienda we believe in the transformative power of women in the economy and society. “Mi Empresa Mujer” not only provides them with financial resources, but also with the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to transcend in their businesses”, said José Ángel López, SME Banking manager of Banco Davivienda El Salvador.
Among the main features of this initiative are the following:
• Business Multioferta: A unique combination of financial products and services designed specifically for the needs of women entrepreneurs, including special financing conditions and tools to optimize the management of their businesses.
• Strategic Alliance with DFC: Thanks to a $31 million guarantee agreement, Davivienda allocates 60% of these resources to small and medium-sized enterprises led by women. This is the most robust guarantee program in Central America led by a private financial institution, reaffirming its commitment to financial inclusion.
• Training and Education: Recognizing that empowerment begins with knowledge, the program offers workshops, lectures, and business counseling.

“With the Mi Empresa Mujer Program, we seek for women entrepreneurs to grow, increase their economic empowerment, build their wealth, but also to be able to generate labor force, thus stimulating economic activity and gender equity. In other words, we want women entrepreneurs to transcend and transform their businesses through our portfolio”, said Chatereen Alvarenga, Deputy Manager of SME strategies at Banco Davivienda El Salvador.
A real impact for women entrepreneurs
The “Mi Empresa Mujer” program has benefited hundreds of women entrepreneurs, and in this 2025 it not only reinvents itself, but also celebrates the achievements of women who, with the support of Davivienda, have transformed their dreams into successful businesses. Among them:
• Rosario Ábrego, Founder and owner of La Canasta products: From bagging basic products such as beans and rice, Rosario transformed her family business into a successful enterprise that now produces blends for soft drinks and condiments. Financial support from Davivienda was instrumental in obtaining working capital and growing sustainably.
• Elizabeth de Villegas, Managing Owner of RadTec: At only 22 years old, she started as a distributor of American radiators and, thanks to a loan granted by Davivienda, was able to acquire and expand the operation in the region. Today she leads a company that manufactures and distributes radiators.
• Ana Flamenco and María Flamenco de Figueroa, owners of “Pavito Criollo”: From a small kiosk, this family took the unique flavor of their irresistible homemade recipe to become a company with more than 100 employees, 75% of whom are women. For three decades, Davivienda’s support has been key to its expansion and consolidation.
• Maura Solís, Co-owner of Tecnoaccesorios: From being newly qualified lawyers with only $74 in inventory, they built a network of seven branches of motorcycle accessories that employs 40 people. Thanks to Davivienda, they were able to consolidate debts, increase their capital and project themselves into the future.

Banco Davivienda continues to innovate with financial products that adapt to the needs of salvadorans; therefore, with the program “Mi Empresa Mujer”, seeks to ensure its progress and contribution to gender, through a comprehensive range of financial products and services; as well as facilities for the protection of women entrepreneurs and their business, according to their needs.
Also, Davivienda made the announcement of its special event for SMEs to be held this march 4, 2025 at the Hilton Hotel, San Salvador, which seeks to bring together and recognize female business leadership that contributes to the development of our country.
