The Government of El Salvador, through the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (Conamype), reaffirmed its commitment to the economic development of the country by presenting its new institutional strategic plan: “Conamype Somos Todos”. This instrument will mark the institution’s roadmap for the coming years, with the purpose of strengthening the MSE sector, which is key to the country’s economic dynamism.
The presentation of the plan was made to the institution’s technical team, to align internal actions towards a shared goal: to promote the growth of micro and small enterprises. With a practical approach and measurable results, the strategy seeks to generate more productive opportunities and improve the living conditions of the salvadoran population.
The Vice President of the Republic, Félix Ulloa, participated in the event and emphasized that the Government’s vision is to create an environment where entrepreneurs can access resources under favorable conditions, such as accessible terms and low interest rates. “Conamype must be the engine that drives the productive projects of the population, especially those traditionally excluded by the banking system”, he said.
Paul Steiner, president of Conamype, emphasized that the country’s economic development depends on the strengthening of micro and small enterprises, since this sector represents a significant part of employment and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). “They feed 90% of the population. We know that it is through them that we are going to achieve that economic miracle”, he said.
As part of the event, the officials visited the Centro de Desarrollo Artesanal Interactivo (Cedart), located in the Historic Center of San Salvador, where national artisan talent is promoted as a living expression of the country’s creative and cultural economy.
