The Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with the Cámara Alemana Salvadoreña de Comercio e Industria, has played a key role in the development of the event “Food Safety Day 2024”. This initiative, organized by Training Camp for Professionals, seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of the food sector and improve its access to international markets. The public-private collaboration reflects a shared commitment to the growth and modernization of the food industry in El Salvador.
More than 150 representatives from the food and beverage sector participated in the event, which focused on the latest trends, opportunities and challenges in food safety. Food Safety Day 2024 has established itself as an essential meeting point for professionals interested in improving the quality and safety of food products.
The Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, highlighted the importance of this transformation and urged the participants to continue working towards the growth of the sector. In her remarks, she called for continued efforts to strengthen the food and beverage sector, recognizing its positive impact on the national economy.
In addition, Hayem emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to the PYME + Calidad program, designed to enhance the competencies of human talent in Salvadoran companies, especially in the area of quality. This initiative seeks to raise the standards of small and medium-sized enterprises so that they can compete effectively in the global market.
The minister emphasized that the food industry is crucial for the country’s economic development and that the government is committed to supporting its expansion and strengthening.
