The Centro Histórico of San Salvador will incorporate a new space this year, designed as a social club for events and recreational activities. This initiative aims to revitalize the local economy, attract greater investment, and expand the range of services in the area, announced Adriana Larín, Director General of the Autoridad del Centro Histórico de San Salvador, during a radio interview.
Larín explained that this new concept is part of a strategy to transform the Centro Histórico into an engine of economic development, generating a greater flow of visitors and new opportunities for entrepreneurs, service providers, and established businesses in the area.
As part of this economic boost, the official confirmed that La Cevichería, a new gastronomic space, will open in the first quarter of the year. This will contribute to the growth of the commercial sector and strengthen the value chain linked to tourism and domestic consumption.

These actions are part of a comprehensive urban revitalization plan focused on attracting private investment, improving the business environment, and fostering sustainable socioeconomic development. The restoration of public spaces and the diversification of activities aim to increase visitor stays and spending in the area, with positive effects on employment and economic activity.
In this context, Larín said that the transformation model for the Centro Histórico has generated international interest, as reflected in recent discussions with authorities from Zipaquirá, Colombia, who are interested in learning about the strategies implemented to boost investment, tourism, and economic recovery.

According to the director of the Autoridad del Centro Histórico de San Salvador, these exchanges confirm that the revitalization process has not only an urban and cultural impact, but also an economic one, positioning the Centro Histórico as an attractive space for new businesses and events.
With the addition of projects such as the social club and new culinary offerings, the Centro Histórico of San Salvador continues to consolidate its position as a hub of economic activity, combining heritage, tourism, and commercial activity to strengthen the country’s development.
