The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador (INDES) concluded a technical mission to the country to advance the formulation of the new Programa de Desarrollo de Infraestructura Deportiva (PRODEPORTE II), an initiative aimed at modernizing, expanding, and strengthening sports facilities nationwide.

PRODEPORTE II is a continuation of the successful PRODEPORTE I, financed by CABEI with US$115.2 million, an investment that enabled the renovation, construction, and modernization of numerous sports venues, benefiting more than 100,000 Salvadoran athletes and fostering the development of national talent.

With this new program, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) reaffirms its commitment as a key driver of financing for the country’s comprehensive development, promoting infrastructure focused on well-being, inclusion, and access to sports in communities throughout the country.

The technical mission carried out this week allowed for progress in assessments, project identification, and the definition of priorities that will shape the program’s roadmap, which aims to continue transforming El Salvador’s sports ecosystem through strategic investments.
The Government of El Salvador and CABEI emphasize that PRODEPORTE II will further strengthen the country’s capacity to train athletes, promote healthy lifestyles, and position sports as a pillar of social development.
