
French brand Decathlon has opened its first store in El Salvador, located in Antiguo Cuscatlán, marking an important step in the company’s expansion in Central America and in the country’s commercial dynamism.
Decathlon is starting operations by creating around 200 direct and indirect jobs and plans to expand to other areas of the country. Its range includes sports products for multiple disciplines, from clothing and footwear to specialized equipment, allowing national and foreign athletes to access quality items within the country.

The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, attended the opening event, where it was highlighted that the arrival of this store reflects the growth of sports tourism and the increased interest of international brands in establishing operations in El Salvador.
During the inauguration, Decathlon’s commercial director, Matías Ballesteros, pointed out that the store seeks to support the salvadoran sports community and promote an environment where practicing sports is accessible and motivating.
The arrival of Decathlon adds to the growth of the sports sector in the country and opens up new opportunities for employment, commercial development, and access to specialized products for the population.
