Yamil Bukele, through a letter published on his social media accounts, has made public his decision to run for president of the Comité Ejecutivo de la Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol (FESFUT). This announcement comes after a period of reflection and analysis, during which he has dedicated himself to experiencing and understanding the reality of national soccer.

In his statement, Bukele explains that the decision was made after careful consideration with his family, understanding the challenges facing salvadoran soccer in its administrative and sporting areas. His candidacy seeks to address these challenges and make up for lost time in the development of the sport.
The FESFUT presidential hopeful said he had listened to various sectors, including fans, journalists, businesspeople, players, coaches, and voters. Bukele maintains that his closeness to the reality of soccer, both within and beyond the country’s borders, has allowed him to identify areas of opportunity.
If elected, Yamil Bukele pledges to abide by the statutes of FESFUT and international regulations. He also promises to always give his best, recognizing that achieving the desired goals for salvadoran soccer will require effort and time.

Bukele’s candidacy represents a new chapter in the history of salvadoran soccer. His proposal focuses on the recovery of the sport and the search for a more promising future for national soccer.
