The Ministry of Economy of El Salvador, in collaboration with Invest in El Salvador, organized the Forum “Knowing the Trade Opportunities with the United Kingdom”, focused on the benefits of the Association Agreement between Central America and the United Kingdom. This event was aimed at salvadoran entrepreneurs interested in expanding their exports to the British market, providing a space to explore new business opportunities.
During the forum, the relevance of this agreement to strengthen bilateral trade was discussed, highlighting key sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing and technology. The salvadoran businessmen learned about the tariff facilities and incentives offered by the United Kingdom to Central American products, which can increase the competitiveness of local exports in this market of high purchasing power.
The UK Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean, Jonatan Knott, emphasized the British commitment to continue strengthening trade ties with Central America, especially with El Salvador. He also stressed the importance of diversifying Salvadoran exports to the United Kingdom, highlighting growth opportunities in areas such as coffee, sugar and textiles.
These types of forums are essential for El Salvador’s economic development, as they allow local companies to learn about the opportunities and challenges of international markets. Market diversification is key to boosting the salvadoran economy, generating employment and increasing the flow of foreign exchange into the country.
