The Director of COAMSS/OPAMSS, Luis Rodríguez, announced the beginning of the operation of a historic agreement between the Oficina de Planificación del Área Metropolitana de San Salvador (COAMSS/OPAMSS) and Google, in the framework of the second stage of a project that uses new technologies for urban mobility analysis.
This agreement aims to improve traffic management and urban planning, using smart data to identify mobility patterns in the San Salvador metropolitan area.
This collaboration is crucial for attracting investment, as it provides a clearer picture of the city’s transportation needs and challenges, facilitating the creation of modern infrastructure to meet these demands. With accurate and up-to-date data, it is expected that local and international companies will be more motivated to invest, knowing that urban mobility is efficient and that there are efforts to constantly improve it.
From an economic point of view, the implementation of this new analysis and research management model will allow El Salvador to optimize its resources in terms of transportation and logistics, key sectors for trade growth. In addition, technology and transportation companies could find new business opportunities in the development of innovative solutions for urban mobility.
Furthermore, the intelligent use of these tools reinforces El Salvador’s positioning as a country open to digitization and modernization of its public services, which improves its competitiveness in the global market. The collaboration with Google demonstrates a commitment to innovation, benefiting not only the economy, but also the welfare of citizens in their daily lives.
