This rebound in fuel demand is directly related to the economic resurgence the country is experiencing, thanks to a number of factors including infrastructure expansion and increased commercial activity.

Among fuels, premium gasoline experienced the strongest growth, up 3.1% from 152.3 million gallons in 2023 to 157.1 million gallons in 2024. This increase is a reflection of the boost in the national economy, in which advances such as the construction of new highways and the increased mobility of tourists stand out.
Transportation, a key sector for economic activity, has been one of the major beneficiaries, as it has been able to operate without interruptions, unlike in previous years when insecurity limited its capacity.

With the construction of new roads and the improvement of existing ones, the movement of both people and products has been facilitated, which has benefited both industry and commerce.
In addition, the country’s increased connectivity has attracted more tourists, contributing to increased demand for fuel and, consequently, economic growth.
