The Government of El Salvador continues to strengthen the tourism sector in order to attract more visitors and boost the local economy. In the framework of Easter Week, the Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR) has intensified its efforts to guarantee a quality experience to national and international tourists, making strategic visits to different destinations in the country.

During a tour in Los Naranjos, the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, highlighted that the arrival of approximately 135,000 international visitors from the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, and other countries is expected, which would generate approximately US$111 million in foreign exchange income. This growth in the influx of tourists reflects the confidence in El Salvador as a safe and attractive destination.
As part of the strategy to optimize the tourism offer, the authorities held meetings with hotel owners, restaurants, transportation companies, and tour guides. These meetings allowed them to identify opportunities to improve the quality of service and to learn about the expectations of businessmen considering the tourism boom in the region.

The positive impact of tourism is evident in areas such as San José de La Majada, where businesses such as Simmer Garden have experienced an increase in visitors, especially from Guatemala, the United States and Canada. “We are working hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism. People come without fear and stay in the area”, said Jonathan Colocho, manager of the establishment.
To keep tourists informed, the Government has made available the portal elsalvador.travel, where the agenda of activities in the different destinations of the country is detailed. With these actions, El Salvador continues to consolidate itself as a reference destination in the region, promoting tourism as an engine for sustainable economic development.
