The salvadoran government maintains active the Summer Plan with the purpose of providing safety to salvadorans and visitors during Easter Week. Through a series of strategic road controls in the main highways of the country, authorities seek to prevent accidents and promote a culture of responsibility at the wheel.

Secretary of the Presidency
The Viceministerio de Transporte (VMT) installed a vehicle control point at kilometer 16 ½ of the road to the port of La Libertad, in the district of Zaragoza. The objective is to make drivers aware of the importance of respecting traffic regulations and to verify that they have the required safety implements.
“We verify that drivers have the implements in terms of road safety and that they comply with the provisions of the traffic regulations”, said the general director of Transit, Felix Serrano, who stressed that these actions are essential to reduce accidents and save lives.

In addition to the controls, the VMT, in coordination with Conasevi, distributed safety equipment such as cones, reflective harnesses and fire extinguishers. These devices, although basic, can make a difference in emergency situations, especially for motorcyclists.
More than 1,200 control devices have been deployed nationwide as part of the plan, covering strategic points to protect citizens on their travels. These measures reflect the Government’s commitment to road safety and the welfare of the population during this holiday period.
