Geocycle, a subsidiary of Holcim El Salvador, continues to lead the way towards sustainability with an innovative approach to waste management. Since its founding in the country 17 years ago, the company has managed to revalue more than 300,000 tons of waste from various industries, as well as municipal waste, avoiding landfill disposal and actively contributing to a regenerative circular economy.

In the last year alone, Geocycle has tripled its installed capacity, going from processing 5 to 15 tons per hour, thanks to the implementation of a high-tech waste feeding system. This modernization allows it to provide better solutions to both the market and the communities, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and reaffirming its leadership in environmental management.

“At Geocycle, we work every day to provide innovative solutions that enable our customers to achieve their sustainability goals while building a cleaner planet. Through revalorization, we transform what was once waste into a valuable resource, harnessing the energy and mineral value of multiple wastes and incorporating them into our cement production, closing cycles, and contributing to a regenerative circular economy. Our commitment is to continue leading the way towards a waste-free future, helping to significantly reduce our carbon footprint, and ensuring that waste is managed in a responsible and sustainable manner”, said Jorge Peña, general manager of Geocycle.
