The Ministry of Foreign Affairs promotes the virtual platform “ViajeroSV”, a digital tool designed to promote the national tourism offer among salvadorans abroad. The initiative was announced during an informative meeting organized jointly with the Ministry of Tourism and the Salvadoran Tourism Corporation, aimed at representatives of the local business sector.

“ViajeroSV” works as digital coupons that offers exclusive benefits and promotions in restaurants, hotels, medical services, personal care and more. This proposal seeks to encourage compatriots visiting the country to enjoy an enriching experience, strengthening the cultural and emotional bond with their land of origin.
The Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Cindy Mariella Portal, said that this effort is part of the Government’s commitment to Salvadorans abroad. “Each return to the country must become an unforgettable experience, full of identity and reconnection,” she said, highlighting the emotional and economic impact it represents for the nation.

During the activity, the inter-institutional work behind the creation of this platform was highlighted, which also opens opportunities for more salvadoran companies to join the tourism offer. Portal said that, due to the security climate in the country, many salvadorans are returning more frequently, even more than three times a year.
The platform has recently been updated to include services such as medical tourism, esthetics, and dentistry, thus broadening its scope and appeal. “We are continuously working to strengthen and expand ViajeroSV’s offer”, said the official, who also called on companies to register through the official website: viajerosv.rree.gob.sv.

The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, said that this type of strategies contribute to dynamize the value chain of the tourism sector. “They help us to be more creative to attract more tourism to the country”, she said. The event was also attended by the executive director of CORSATUR, Alejandra Durán, businessmen, Foreign Ministry officials and special guests.
