La Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE),) reports positive results with the implementation of the new credit line aimed at neighborhood stores, a sector that is already beginning to directly benefit from this financial support. According to CONAMYPE data, dozens of stores have accessed these loans, reflecting the impact of the policies implemented to strengthen microenterprises and promote their formalization in an environment of greater security and economic growth throughout the country.

According to authorities, the growth of these stores has been particularly notable in municipalities such as Apopa, where a 227% increase in new stores was recorded. Currently, there are nearly 70,000 neighborhood stores nationwide, which represent a fundamental pillar of the popular economy and generate thousands of local jobs.
Market studies indicate that these stores generate more than US$3 billion in sales annually, demonstrating their economic importance and key role in boosting domestic trade. However, many of these businesses faced difficulties accessing credit due to a lack of formal recognition or assets to serve as collateral.

With this new BFA, loan facility, owners will be able to apply for loans of up to US$10,000, with a response within 72 hours. Additionally, they will have the support of the ProGramype program, which offers a partial guarantee of up to 90% of the loan, reducing interest rates and minimizing risks for the bank. This measure is part of the Economic Integration Policy for Microenterprises, published in 2023, which seeks to support entrepreneurs in their formalization and professionalization process, thus strengthening the local economy.
