
The Consejo Industrial de El Salvadorofficially launched the campaign “Renacemos como industria, renacemos como país” an initiative that seeks to highlight the strategic role of this sector as an engine of economic development, job creation, and the building of a new stage of national growth.
“Salvadoran industry has demonstrated enormous resilience. Even during complex times for the global economy, our companies have continued producing, innovating, and generating employment. Today, we face a new opportunity to boost the country’s productive growth”, said Jorge Arriaza, coordinator of the Consejo Industrial de El Salvadorand president of the Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI).

Industry represents one of the most important sectors of the salvadoran economy. As of the third quarter of 2025, the industrial sector registered a Gross Domestic Product of US$3,252.4 million, equivalent to 12% of the national GDP, reflecting its high level of production integration and its importance to the country’s economic activity.
Likewise, the manufacturing industry plays a fundamental role in El Salvador’s foreign trade. In 2025, the sector’s exports reached US$6,169.9 million, representing 96% of the country’s total exports, demonstrating its contribution to economic dynamism and El Salvador’s integration into international markets.

Given this scenario, the Consejo Industrial de El Salvadoris promoting a long-term vision aimed at positioning the country as a regional industrial hub, capable of attracting local and foreign investment, generating quality jobs, strengthening exports, and helping to reduce economic and territorial inequalities.

“In terms of employment, industry is also a key pillar of the national economy. As of june 2025, the manufacturing industry generated more than 238,000 jobs, equivalent to 23% of the country’s formal employment”, said Arriaza, during the event, which was attended by government officials and business leaders from the sector.

The initiative is promoted through 26 industrial sectors, committed to promoting actions aimed at strengthening the business production fabric and consolidating industry as a key pillar of the economic and social development of El Salvador.
