El Salvador is advancing its search for new economic and trade opportunities in Central Asia, following the presentation of credentials by Ambassador Yuri Santacruz to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym Jomart Tokayev.
The official ceremony took place at the Akorda Presidential Palace, where the diplomat was accredited as El Salvador’s concurrent representative, marking the formal start of a mission aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and opening new avenues for cooperation.
During the ceremony, the Kazakh president expressed his interest in consolidating ties with the Central American country, highlighting the importance of promoting joint initiatives that generate mutual benefits. He also expressed his confidence that this new diplomatic phase will contribute to the development of stronger relations between the two nations.

As part of his work agenda, Ambassador Santacruz held strategic meetings focused on identifying concrete investment and trade opportunities. Among these meetings, the one held with representatives of the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan stands out, where possibilities for boosting economic exchange were explored.
This meeting addressed options for positioning salvadoran products in the Kazakh market, as well as the creation of alliances that facilitate access to new market niches. The discussions also included an analysis of sectors with growth potential and cooperation between companies from both countries.

Both parties agreed on the importance of following up on these initiatives, with the goal of moving toward concrete agreements that will revitalize bilateral trade. This outreach is part of a broader strategy to diversify markets and expand El Salvador’s presence in regions beyond its traditional partners.
The diplomatic mission also seeks to strengthen political and economic dialogue, creating favorable conditions for future investments and joint projects. With this step, El Salvador expands its international reach and explores new avenues for economic growth through cooperation with Central Asian countries.
