The Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) reports a 5.6% decrease in salvadoran exports during july 2024. Exports totaled US$3,783.8 million, compared to US$4,008.0 million in the same month of 2023, representing a reduction of US$224.2 million.
The United States remains the main destination for salvadoran exports, with a total of US$1,298.7 million. Followed by Guatemala with US$725.8 million, Honduras with US$582.5 million and Nicaragua with US$327.2 million. Other countries highlighted in the list of destinations are Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama.
In terms of exported products, textiles lead the group with T-shirts reaching US$365.8 million in exports. Sweaters are second with US$222.2 million, followed by sugar with US$217.8 million. Transportation and plastic items also stand out with US$179.9 million, as well as paper with US$116.4 million. Other important products include shoes, coffee and medicines.
