
San Salvador. El Salvador has consolidated its position as the second-best performing country in Latin America and the Caribbean in attracting new foreign investment projects, according to the 2026 Greenfield FDI Performance Index, an indicator that measures an economy’s capacity to attract investments aimed at creating new business operations.
The information was shared by the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, who highlighted this result as a reflection of the country’s performance in attracting investment projects that include the establishment of companies, the construction of industrial plants, and the launch of new production operations.

This recognition positions El Salvador among the most competitive markets in the region for greenfield investments, which generate new productive capacity from scratch and contribute to the development of economic activity.

According to the 2026 Greenfield FDI Performance Index, the country achieved the second-best regional performance in this type of investment, strengthening its position as an attractive destination for new business and industrial projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
