The Ministerio de Obras Públicas (MOPT) reported that, as part of the Vacation Plan 2026, it provided free road assistance to 1,166 drivers who faced problems with their vehicles while traveling on the country’s roads.
The #MOPTeAsiste service was available from July 27 to august 9, 24 hours a day and at no cost to users. During this period, assistance teams traveled a total of 36,716 kilometers to respond to reported emergencies.
Drivers who needed support could request the service through telephone line 2510-0199, through which the teams traveled to the indicated location to provide assistance.

According to the data released by the MOPT, the greatest amount of care was concentrated in the paracentral area, which represented 80% of the services. The western zone followed with 14%, while the east of the country concentrated 6% of the attendances.
The service was aimed at drivers who had problems during their trips, as part of the actions implemented by the authorities to facilitate mobility and provide support to those who traveled during the holiday period.
The MOPT highlighted that this type of assistance made it possible to provide care directly on the road and support motorists who had difficulties with their vehicles, also contributing to a faster response to these types of situations.

With these actions, the institutions that participated in the 2026 Vacation Plan reinforced support services for travelers during one of the periods of greatest vehicular movement in the country.
In total, 1,166 drivers received free assistance and program teams traveled more than 36,000 kilometers during the 14 days of service.
