The La Fundación Empresarial para la Acción Social (FUNDEMAS), and Asociación Bancaria Salvadoreña (ABANSA) and their member banks have reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together to drive sustainable finance as a strategic tool for the transformation, resilience, and competitiveness of the salvadoran business sector.
This initiative builds upon the alliance established between FUNDEMAS, ABANSA, and the private banking sector, which aims to promote a financial system that helps mobilize resources toward sustainable economic activities, manage environmental and social risks, expand financial inclusion opportunities, and support companies in their transformation processes.

As part of this effort, the organizations announced the Sustainable Investment and Finance Forum. This event will take place on wednesday, october 7, at the Sheraton Hotel as part of Sustainability Week 2026 FUNDEMAS’s flagship event for connecting the business, financial, public, and cooperation sectors to address key sustainability challenges and opportunities.
The forum seeks to move beyond conceptual discussions about sustainability and link the topic directly to financial, investment, and business management decisions. The event will analyze major market-transforming trends, the regulatory landscape for sustainable finance, the priorities of various economic sectors, and the tools available for companies to prepare for and capitalize on new opportunities.

A central theme will be the financial system’s role in addressing environmental risks and the transition toward more sustainable production models, as well as the opportunities offered by financial inclusion and digitalization to expand access to solutions and strengthen economic development.
The forum will bring together representatives from the banking sector, leading companies across various productive sectors, and national and international specialists. It will create a space for dialogue among those seeking financing, those mobilizing capital, and those implementing sustainable transformation processes within their organizations.

Furthermore, the event will provide insight into business experiences and solutions demonstrating that incorporating sustainability criteria can help improve risk management, identify investment opportunities, boost operational efficiency, and foster greater resilience and competitiveness.

The event will conclude with the presentation of the ABANSA Sustainability Protocol, an instrument representing a new step forward in the Salvadoran banking sector’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its operations and strengthening its contribution to the country’s development.
