El Salvador’s Deputy Foreign minister, Adriana Mira, reported on a visit to the Pacific Port Union as part of the country’s economic diplomacy efforts to learn about projects related to the modernization and development of the national port infrastructure.
During the tour, she learned about the progress and projects underway at the ports of Acajutla and La Unión, which are considered strategic locations for strengthening El Salvador’s maritime connectivity and logistics capacity.
Mira noted that the visit provided insight into the investment programs and modernization and infrastructure initiatives being promoted to expand the ports’ operational capacity and improve the efficiency of their processes.
Strengthening these facilities is important for the country’s commercial activity, as increased port capacity can facilitate the movement of goods and improve El Salvador’s connection to other international markets.
The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that these types of engagements are part of economic diplomacy efforts, which seek opportunities for cooperation, investment, and development linked to strategic sectors of the salvadoran economy.
The projects discussed during the visit are aimed at improving the infrastructure and operating conditions of the ports of Acajutla and La Unión, with the goal of strengthening their role within the national logistics system.
Mira also thanked the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), a strategic partner of El Salvador, for its support in organizing the visit and in the cooperation efforts between the two countries.
Through these initiatives, El Salvador aims to advance the modernization of its port infrastructure, strengthen its connectivity, and create better conditions for trade, investment, and national logistics development.
