As part of its commitment to the modernization of its electrical infrastructure and the sustainable development of the country, AES CLESA, one of the distribution companies of AES El Salvador, has executed 34 projects for the optimization and expansion of electrical networks in the western part of the country during the first half of the year, with an investment of more than US$395 thousand.
The initiative has had a positive impact on more than 11,300 customers in the departments of Santa Ana, Sonsonate, and Ahuachapán, improving the quality of electricity service and strengthening the supply for rural communities, urban areas, and industrial sectors.

“These projects allow us to bring energy to more communities, but also to improve the capacity to respond to a growing demand in industrial and commercial areas. At AES CLESA we are committed to the sustainable energy development of the western part of the country”, said Noel Valenzuela, construction supervisor of AES CLESA.
Three strategic investment axes
Three lines of action stand out among the projects executed:
Normalization of Third Party Lines (NTL): These interventions consist of replacing electrical installations built by private individuals with modern networks that comply with the technical standards established by SIGET, thus guaranteeing electrical safety and quality of service for thousands of families.
Social benefit projects: Focused on bringing electricity to rural areas that are difficult to access, these projects have been key to improving the quality of life of the communities. In addition to lighting and safety, these works open new opportunities for economic and social development.

Construction of new electrical circuits: AES CLESA has also invested in the development of new infrastructure with greater capacity, especially in areas of growing industrial activity. This makes it possible to meet a greater energy demand, offering a stable and efficient service that boosts the economic growth of western El Salvador.
“With each new circuit or normalized line, we are building the region’s energy future. It is not only about infrastructure, but also about progress and opportunities for the people”, said Valenzuela.

Commitment to territorial development
The investment made by AES El Salvador through AES CLESA not only responds to technical criteria, but also to a vision of territorial development that seeks to narrow the gaps in access to basic services and support the productive sectors that drive the national economy.
These actions are aligned with AES El Salvador’s mission, which is to accelerate the future of energy, putting people at the center, while consolidating itself as a key partner in the country’s economic development.
