“Today I found fresh produce (…) everything I need for my family’s dinner I found here. When I do the math, it’s a significant savings, and that’s why I want to thank the President for thinking about families, because this has helped us a lot”, said Verónica Ramírez while shopping at the AgroMercado ofSoyapango in East San Salvador.
Like Verónica, thousands of families do their Christmas Eve shopping at the more than 60 AgroMercados nationwide, which have become one of the best options for salvadorans, as they find fresh, quality food at affordable prices.
“I came to buy the things I still need for Christmas dinner, and I was able to find most of them at very good prices and of good quality. It’s very affordable for these Christmas holidays, since what we’re looking for is to economize and save a little more”, said Beatriz Hernández, from Santa Tecla, La Libertad Sur.
Many highlighted the good selection of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, watercress, cabbage, green chilies, onions, and other ingredients needed for traditional holiday dishes.
“I’m grateful to the AgroMercados because they sell everything fresh and cheap. And thank you to the President. Merry Christmas to all”, said Ana Luna.
The AgroMercados will continue serving the public this december 24th until 1:00 p.m., and the Central de Abastos (CDA) will be open until 10:00 p.m. Both the AgroMercados and the CDA will be closed on december 25th, reopening on friday with regular hours.
