In a strategic move that underscores its commitment to tourism development, El Salvador hosted a Business to Consumer (B2C) event. The salvadoran capital brought together prominent figures from the regional tourism sector, including the manager of Market Intelligence of the Instituto Hondureño de Turismo, Stephany Mena, and the secretary general of the Agencia de Promoción Turística Centroamericana (CATA), Boris Iraheta.

The presence of these authorities, together with the Honduran ambassador in El Salvador, Taiff Sandoval, highlights El Salvador’s central role in boosting regional tourism.
The event served as a platform for Carlos Umaña, president of the Cámara de Turismo de El Salvador,, to emphasize the vision of promoting a unified tourism offer. This call to action resonates with the need to consolidate binational efforts to promote shared destinations, thus attracting more visitors to the region. The synergy between key players in both countries seeks to strengthen the image of Central America as a competitive and attractive multi-destination.

In parallel to this meeting, significant progress in regional integration has been made with the collaboration between Honduran minister of Tourism Yadira Gómez and Ambassador Taiff Sandoval. The two leaders have joined forces to optimize border services, a crucial initiative that seeks to facilitate the transit of tourists and, consequently, foster mutual economic development. This strategic action is fundamental to simplifying customs processes and streamlining the travel experience between El Salvador and Honduras.

The meeting between Minister Gomez and Ambassador Sandoval focused on identifying key points to improve efficiency at land crossings. These types of measures are vital to stimulate the flow of salvadoran tourists to Honduran territory, contributing directly to the strengthening of regional tourism. The Embassy of Honduras in El Salvador has proven to be an invaluable strategic ally for tourism promotion initiatives, strengthening ties and bilateral cooperation.

The commitment to sustainable tourism and Central American integration was reaffirmed by Ambassador Sandoval, who thanked Minister Gómez for her leadership. These initiatives not only seek to enhance the region’s tourism attractiveness, but also to generate greater opportunities for development and prosperity for its inhabitants. El Salvador, as a key player in these efforts, continues to lay the groundwork for a prosperous and connected regional tourism future.
