El Salvador continues to focus on innovation and connectivity as pillars of its economic development. In this context, Vice President Felix Ulloa Jr. and the President of CEPA, Federico Anliker, held a meeting with representatives of the global aviation sector to strengthen strategic alliances in the country.

The meeting included the CEO of Atlanta International Airport, Jan Lennon, and the Director General of the Airports Council of the World, Rafael Echevarne, with whom they discussed the impact of the Global Training Program on Airports and Economic Development.
Vice President Ulloa emphasized that the economic strategy promoted by President Nayib Bukele, together with stability in security, has made El Salvador an attractive destination for investment. As an example, he mentioned the progress in the reactivation of the Port of La Union with the Turkish company Yilport Holding, as well as the modernization of the Port of Acajutla. He also highlighted the importance of the Pacific Airport, a key work to boost industry and trade in a strategic area of the country.

In the educational field, ESIAP’s Executive Director, Claudia de Larín, highlighted the commitment to innovation through training programs in Artificial Intelligence. New opportunities for collaboration with international institutions were explored to improve airport management and public service in El Salvador.
The meeting also strengthened cooperation with Atlanta International Airport and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), key institutions in the Global Training Program. This program seeks to improve leadership in airport administration, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote strategic alliances that strengthen the institutional resilience of the air sector.

El Salvador recorded a 16% growth in passenger traffic in 2024, reaching 5.2 million travelers. This increase reflects the impact of infrastructure modernization and improvements in air connectivity.
With these initiatives, the country advances in its positioning as a benchmark in innovation and development, consolidating its role as a strategic node in the region.
