The Ministry of Finance, through the General Directorate of Customs, certified 10 new companies under the Trusted Operator Program, an initiative that recognizes companies with the highest standards of security and quality in their processes.
Certification as a Trusted Operator fosters safer, faster, and more competitive trade. Furthermore, by participating in the program, companies receive priority clearance through customs, reducing physical and documentary controls and speeding up their clearance at the border.
It is worth noting that certified companies comply with strict security requirements, minimizing the risk of illicit activities such as smuggling and drug trafficking, which strengthens trust with their international trading partners.
“Each of the companies certified today has complied with customs and tax regulations, implementing processes that allow for traceability, security, and predictability in their operations; and they have thereby earned the status of Trusted Operators, a rating that contributes to their credibility with the authorities and their business partners”, said Finance minister Jerson Posada.
The meeting also brought together representatives from public institutions, trade associations, and companies in the logistics sector, who participated in keynote addresses and panels on key topics, with the goal of further boosting competitiveness and best practices with a focus on modernization.
“Under President Nayib Bukele’s administration, we are committed to trade facilitation by providing expeditious, efficient, and specialized customs clearance services, resulting in streamlined customs operations and reduced times and costs”, said the minister of Finance.
Within the framework of the Trusted Operator Program, three Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) have already been signed with six countries in the region (Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic), promoting more agile and efficient customs services with trade facilitation tools.

With these additions, El Salvador reaffirms its commitment to more competitive, secure, and efficient foreign trade, boosting trust in the logistics chain and encouraging more companies to begin their certification process.
