
Fondo de Inversión Ambiental de El Salvador (FIAES) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a collaboration agreement that marks a strategic step to strengthen the country’s environmental diplomatic agenda and project, at an international level, its advances in conservation, restoration and sustainability.
This alliance articulates the administrative, technical and territorial experience of FIAES with the diplomatic management capacity of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agreement establishes a work plan focused on promoting environmental education, promoting the exchange of knowledge and strengthening institutional capacities, through joint participation in specialized spaces for dialogue, training and international influence.

FIAES will contribute its technical knowledge, experience in the territory and capacity for project implementation, facilitating the connection between training processes and the country’s environmental reality. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will enhance the reach of this agenda through its diplomatic network, promoting new financing opportunities for sustainability.
Environmental education is positioned as a key component of this collaboration, expanding its reach to institutional audiences, the Salvadoran diaspora and other strategic actors, with the objective of strengthening an environmental culture aligned with the country’s identity and international projection.

With this agreement, FIAES and Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirm their commitment to generating spaces for interinstitutional collaboration, to promote and project the responsible management of El Salvador’s natural heritage, and the conservation of biodiversity.
The protocolary act was presided over by Adriana Mira, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs; y Jorge Oviedo, executive director of FIAES.
