The Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB Group) has presented its latest Impact Report, highlighting significant progress in improving the quality of life of millions of people in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the BID Impact+ strategy and a new institutional framework, the organization has focused its efforts on concrete and measurable actions, especially in sectors such as social protection, private innovation, and sustainable infrastructure.

During 2024, the IDB Group has enabled 2.6 million people to access broadband services, 1.2 million to improve their capacities through education and training programs, and more than 3.3 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to receive key support for their development. In addition, 940,000 people gained access to safe drinking water and sanitation, and another 550,000 improved their access to energy.
IDB Group President Ilan Goldfajn emphasized that these results are not just numbers, but rather a demonstration of the institutional commitment to transparency, constant learning, and improvement in the implementation of policies that directly impact the most vulnerable communities.

One of the report’s highlights is the mobilization of private capital: in 2024, the Group attracted more than US$9.6 billion in direct financing and US$4.3 billion in indirect financing. Furthermore, 81% of key stakeholders believe the IDB has been effective in creating synergies between the public and private sectors, a vital strategy in the face of the fiscal challenges faced by many countries in the region.
The report also delves into the achievements in sectors such as transportation, energy, water, and sanitation, presenting innovative solutions that can be replicated on a larger scale. With these results, the IDB Group reaffirms its role as an engine of sustainable and inclusive development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
