The Instituto Nacional de Capacitación y Formación (INCAF) and the Ministry of Innovation signed an agreement this afternoon that will allow for the certification of more than 37 training pathways available on the Certifícate platform, expanding the options for salvadorans to formally validate the knowledge acquired through free, online courses.
The agreement will allow individuals who complete the selected training pathways to request certification endorsed by INCAF. This way, participants can validate the knowledge and skills they have developed during their learning process and strengthen their profile for future professional opportunities.
During the signing, the Secretary of Innovation, Daniel Méndez, explained that the agreement follows up on the announcement made last year regarding Certifícate, a platform that seeks to facilitate access to free, asynchronous, online education for salvadorans, without requiring them to travel to a training center or incur course costs.
The platform currently offers more than 2,000 courses in various areas. According to Méndez, one of the most popular courses is English, which includes three levels of training that can now be validated through the corresponding certification process.
“Certifícate allows any salvadoran, wherever they are, to access more than 2,000 available courses. Today we are announcing that Incaf will be certifying more than 37 courses”, said the Secretary of Innovation.
The president of the INCAF, Rebeca Parker, emphasized that the 37 training courses will be certified through free and simple processes, with the goal of making it easier for more citizens to formally accredit their acquired skills.
The process begins on the Certifícate platform, where users must identify and complete one of the courses endorsed by Incaf. Once the training is completed, they can contact Incaf to request the issuance of the corresponding certification, following the established procedure.
With this agreement, the Government seeks to expand training and certification opportunities for the population, leveraging digital tools that allow students to study from anywhere and subsequently validate their acquired knowledge with institutional accreditation.
