Housing Minister Michelle Sol announced the return of US$1.7 million to a new group of salvadoran families affected by the Corporación Argoz, as part of the subdivision regularization process promoted by the Central Government.

During the delivery ceremony, the minister highlighted that 167 families received their property deeds today, documents that certify them as legitimate owners of the land for which, in many cases, they had to pay two or three times.
The total amount delivered today amounts to US$1.7 million, resources that represent direct economic restitution to the families and a further step in the recovery of assets lost because of Argoz’s fraudulent practices.

The minister also highlighted that 63% of the deeds delivered are registered in favor of women, reinforcing the government’s commitment to gender equality and strengthening the salvadoran home.
Since the start of this program, the salvadoran government has helped 71,901 families affected by Argoz recover their property rights, representing a collective wealth of more than US$719 million, boosting local economies and strengthening land values in various communities across the country.

Economists said that this initiative has a direct impact on family and local economies by providing legal security for property, facilitating access to credit, investment in housing improvements, and asset stability—fundamental elements for sustainable economic growth. With this delivery, the Ministry of Housing reaffirms its commitment to redressing historical injustices and protecting the assets of working families, while promoting the formalization of the housing market and local economic development.
