The Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA) has reported a remarkable growth in the activity of El Salvador’s International Airport from january 1 to august 25, 2024. During this period, there was a 25% increase in import and export mobility, consolidating the airport as a key hub for regional trade.
Passenger numbers also showed considerable growth, with a 23% increase in the number of travelers arriving, departing or connecting at the airport. This translates into more than 3.5 million passengers served, reflecting the recovery and expansion of the country’s tourism and business sector.
In terms of passenger flight operations, CEPA noted that more than 30,500 operations were carried out, 15% more than in the same period of the previous year. This increase is evidence of the airlines’ confidence in El Salvador as a strategic point on their routes.
In addition, the air cargo terminal handled more than 21 million kilograms, demonstrating the airport’s importance not only for tourism, but also for the logistics and distribution of goods in the region.
These results underscore CEPA’s commitment to continue promoting the airport’s growth and modernization, strengthening connectivity and economic development in El Salvador.
