Today was held the closing ceremony of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program in El Salvador, marking a milestone in technological training in the country. After 24 weeks of intensive training, 100 young salvadorans from 11 departments of the country, studying at the Universidad de El Salvador and the Escuela Especializada de Ingeniería ITCA-FEPADE and aged between 18 and 22 years, successfully completed the program, obtaining specialized knowledge in Python and Artificial Intelligence.

This program, implemented for the first time in El Salvador with Python and Artificial Intelligence content, aims to promote the development of technological skills and improve the employability of young people in an increasingly digitized world. Thanks to this Samsung Corporate Citizenship initiative, participants acquired key tools to enter the labor market and face the challenges of the automation and data era.

During the closing ceremony, five innovative projects developed throughout the course were presented, demonstrating the knowledge acquired and skills developed.

“María Fernanda Hernández, Corporate Citizenship Manager of Samsung, highlighted in her speech her complacency for the results achieved, emphasizing the importance of this type of programs that are real opportunities for young people to prepare for the challenges of the market; she thanked the allied organizations, Universidad de El Salvador and the Escuela Especializada de Ingeniería ITCA-FEPADE for all the support for the construction of a more competitive and digital future in the region”.

Juan Rosa Quintanilla, Rector of the U Universidad de El Salvador, applauded this multidisciplinary effort orchestrated by Samsung. “From our University more than 80 students participated,16 of them made it to the final stage and one of them won a first place. That fills us with pride. This is a program that trains them to excel in the field of Artificial Intelligence not only regionally but globally”.

Carlos Arriola, director of the Escuela Especializada de Ingeniería ITCA-FEPADE, highlighted the opportunity the school’s students had to share six months of intensive instruction with their peers from the Universidad de El Salvador. “Our students had the chance to get certified in Phyton and Artificial Intelligence, which are basically very current areas of technology.”

The Samsung Innovation Campus, in addition to providing specialized technical training, fosters the development of essential soft skills, such as teamwork, problem solving and creativity, preparing young people to enter an increasingly competitive market.

With this first generation of graduates in El Salvador, the commitment of Samsung and its partners with education and digital transformation of youth is reaffirmed.
