The Ministry of Finance denied today a publication made in social networks about the alleged charging of taxes on remittances from the United States.

In response to this rumor, the institution published in its social networks: “The Ministry of Finance denies rumors about an alleged tax on remittances.
This information is false”, and emphasized that the central government is not evaluating measures of this type or any other that could affect the economy of Salvadoran families, and that remittances will continue free of charge.
The institution urges salvadorans and the general public to be informed only through the official media (mh.gob.sv) and not to be misled by ill-intentioned publications.
