The U.S. Embassy in El Salvador reminded nonimmigrant visa applicants of the importance of verifying that the barcode on the DS-160 form matches exactly the one used when scheduling the consular appointment.
According to the consular authority, this verification is essential to avoid setbacks on the day of the interview, as applicants whose codes do not match will not be able to enter the process.
Among the main instructions, the Embassy detailed:
No match, no interview: If the DS-160 barcode does not match the one registered when scheduling the appointment, the applicant will not be seen.
Mandatory rescheduling: In case of error, the applicant must reschedule their appointment using the correct code on the official platform: ais.usvisa-info.com.
Limited modification: The system only allows the DS-160 number in the profile to be changed once payment has been made.
The authorities recommend that applicants review all documentation in advance and avoid inconsistencies that could lead to delays, rescheduling, or missed appointments.
