
This tuesday, december 16, construction will begin on the AirCity airport free trade zone with the laying of the first stone at El Salvador International Airport. This strategic project aims to strengthen the country’s economic development and logistics competitiveness.
The initiative involves an estimated investment of US$250 million, intended to leverage air connectivity as a key driver for attracting domestic and foreign investment, as well as for expanding industrial, commercial, and service activities related to the airport environment.

According to official projections, AirCity will generate approximately 5,000 direct and 10,000 indirect jobs, representing a significant boost to the labor market and the revitalization of the local economy. Furthermore, the project is expected to contribute to strengthening the logistics chain, improving the efficiency of international trade, and consolidate the airport as a regional development hub.

With this type of investment, the country aims to enhance its strategic infrastructure, attract new capital, and consolidate high-value-added productive sectors, reinforcing its position as a logistics and airport hub in the region.
